the themes in this piece have been very top of mind for me lately - synchronous posting! specifically the pattern of doing something just for the sake of it, doing in a "being-mode" kind of way (an oxymoron perhaps, yet not?). this being an artistic, creative experience done out of pure self expression. and the overwhelming pressure in society to instead perform or do something FOR others. i'm exploring how this shows up in my entrepreneurial journey: how can i thread the needle of an artistic expression of being in service?

It's such a fine, nuanced line. And its ephemerality correlates directly with how in tune we are with ourselves, as well as in integrity and radical self-honesty (neither aggrandizing nor punishing).

I can't remember if I told you my dog-on-a-leash metaphor that I came up with. But I think that's also in play here somehow-- the tension along the line is the most direct mode of communicating. We can either be totally driven by environmental influences and pull too hard to go a specific direction (thus missing a lot of useful cues from the Self) or let it go completely slack (inaction from crippling anxiety/indecision/terror).

I feel like your question though gets into the territory of "what is art?" To that end, I think it's the effective conveyance of truth in a profound, thought-provoking way. So maybe for you the application of the question could be "how can I help my clients cut through the fog to find the truth of what they need to create to help their clients?"
